Living with Lung Disease

Patients diagnosed with severe or chronic lung disease not only have to deal with diagnosis and treatment. Rather, it is necessary for those affected to be able to cope with the disease in everyday life. In addition to psychological stress such as anxiety and worry, patients often suffer from physical symptoms such as pain or shortness of breath. Medications but also non-pharmacological measures such as relaxation techniques and breathing training can provide relief here. The changeover to a healthy diet also has a positive effect on lung function. In order to better integrate the disease into life, it may also be useful to take advantage of rehabilitation, have one’s own home converted for the disabled or apply for financial benefits, if one can no longer work due to a lung disease.
